The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bullish momentum on Tuesday, with the benchmark index posting strong gains.
By the close of trading, the index settled at 186,518.71, up by 1,456.61 points, or 0.79%.
Buying activity was witnessed across key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertiliser, oil and gas exploration, oil marketing companies (OMCs), power generation, and refineries. Heavyweight stocks such as ARL, HUBCO, MARI, POL, PSO, SNGPL, SSGC, HBL, MCB, MEBL, NBP, and UBL all closed in positive territory.
On Monday, the PSX ended T on a robust note as sustained institutional buying propelled the benchmark KSE-100 Index to a fresh all-time high amid strong volumes. The index surged by 2,653 points, or 1.45%, to close at a record 185,062 points.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee showed a marginal improvement against the US dollar in the interbank market on Wednesday. At the close, the local currency settled at 280.06, appreciating by Rs0.01 against the greenback.
