As the popularity of rap music continues to soar across the country, Pakistan is all set to launch its first-ever reality rap competition, “Rap Icon Pakistan,” scheduled to premiere in 2026.
Pixel Entertainment, the organizers behind the show, officially announced that the competition will feature two of the biggest names in the industry as judges:
Bohemia: The pioneer of Desi hip hop.
Talha Anjum: The modern-day face of Pakistani rap and one-half of Young Stunners.
The primary objective of the show is to discover raw talent from the youth and find the next rap superstar of Pakistan.
The reality show will consist of 10 episodes and is slated to air around the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Between 10 and 12 participants will be selected.
Rappers will face various lyrical and performance-based challenges.
To keep the stakes high, contestants face the risk of being eliminated in the early episodes if they fail to impress the judges.
The organizers have officially opened the call for entries. Aspiring rappers are required to:
Compose an original rap track based on the phrase “Rap Icon Pakistan.”
Submit a video recording of their performance.
The audition and selection process is scheduled to begin in January 2026. Producers aim to wrap up the filming of the show before the start of Ramadan.
While this is a first for Pakistan, rap reality shows have a successful track record globally. The concept draws inspiration from international hits like the US-based “The Rap Game,” which completed five seasons by 2019, and India’s “MTV Hustle,” which has significantly popularized Desi Hip Hop across the border.
