The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the season’s first winter rain for Karachi, which is expected to bring a significant drop in temperature and intensify the cold across the city.
A new westerly weather system is set to enter the country, likely bringing the first winter showers to Karachi on December 30.
Following the rain, the intensity of the cold is expected to increase. Currently, chilly winds blowing from Balochistan are already causing a gradual decrease in temperature.

The minimum temperature is expected to plunge to 11°C or 12°C in the coming days, while day skies are likely to remain overcast.
The PMD reports that the westerly system will begin affecting the upper parts of Pakistan from December 28.
After causing rainfall in Balochistan on December 29, the system is projected to reach Karachi by December 30.
Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions, including wearing warm clothing and being mindful of the changing weather conditions.
