In another push for cashless economy, Jazz has started distributing two million free SIM cards to women beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) across Pakistan.
Of the total, 1.7 million SIMs are pre-linked to JazzCash mobile wallets, enabling women who have traditionally been outside the formal banking system to participate fully in digital financial services.
The initiative comes following the Prime Minister’s directive to mobile operators to provide free SIMs to BISP recipients, ensuring vulnerable women are included as the country moves from cash-based disbursements to digital transfers.
Under the new system, eligible beneficiaries will receive SIMs, most connected to a JazzCash account, so that future payments can be deposited directly.
With over 10 million women registered under BISP, Jazz is targeting the first phase of two million previously unconnected beneficiaries and is prepared to expand the rollout as Pakistan accelerates its shift toward a cashless social protection framework.
