The latest cycle of misinformation began after reports surfaced that his sisters had been assaulted outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi when they tried to visit him, a claim that rapidly spread and ignited new speculation about his health and safety.
Following the assault on Khan’s sisters, several social media handles claimed that Imran Khan had been killed in Adiala Jail.
These rumours have sparked widespread concern, misinformation, and fear across Pakistan. PTI members have dismissed these claims, urging citizens to remain calm and verify facts.

Authorities have not confirmed any death, and no verified source has provided evidence of Khan’s demise. JOURNALISTS and fact-checkers indicate that the rumours stem from unverified, anonymous social-media posts or obscure outlets.
This is not the first instance of similar misinformation. In May 2025, false reports of his death circulated widely, later debunked by officials and media watchdogs.
Political leaders from his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), also dismissed the claims, calling them part of a recurring pattern of disinformation aimed at creating public fear and destabilization.
