Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho has claimed that violent crime in the city has decreased by 55% compared to last year.
Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho visited the North Nazimabad Police Station, where he addressed a ceremony.
Javed Alam Odho said that this is the eighteenth police station where a command-and-control room has been established. He added that several cameras installed across the city are highly advanced, which will make monitoring easier.
He stated that number-plate recognition cameras are also included, and in the future, these cameras will be integrated with the Safe City project, the benefits of which will soon be visible.
Javed Alam Odho further said that with the help of technology, more than 100 criminals have been arrested, and violent crime in the city has reduced by 55% compared to the previous year.
