Lionsgate’s latest season in the illusionist-heist franchise, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, has pulled off an impressive box office trick, landing at No. 1 worldwide with a powerful $75.5 million opening weekend.
The film also dominated North America, contributing $54.2 million from international markets across 64 countries.
Arriving almost ten years after the previous film, the third chapter in the series made a particularly strong impact overseas. Major markets that drove its success include China ($19.2 million), South Korea ($3.9 million), France ($3.5 million) and the United Kingdom ($3.2 million).
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film reunites fan-favorite cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco—who once again portray a team of morally driven illusionists pulling off elaborate, Robin Hood-style missions.
Produced on a budget of $90 million, the film’s strong debut signals promising momentum in the weeks ahead.
