The Pakistan hockey team defeated Bangladesh 8–2 in the first match of a three-match series, which is being played to secure a spot in the Hockey World Cup Qualifiers
The opening game of the series, played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Dhaka as part of the qualification round for the Hockey World Cup, was won by Pakistan with a convincing display.
For Pakistan, Ahmad Nadeem and Afraz scored two goals each, while captain Imad Butt, Ghazanfar Ali, Rana Waheed Ashraf, and Hanan Shahid each netted one goal. For Bangladesh, Huzaifa and Amirul Islam scored one goal apiece.

President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti and Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan congratulated the national team on winning the first match of the series.
The second match of the Pakistan–Bangladesh series will be played on November 14, while the final match will take place on November 16.
The team that wins the series will qualify for the Hockey World Cup Qualifiers.
