In a high-stakes political maneuver, a delegation from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to secure support for the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.

The tweet outlines that the amendment package includes several significant and potentially controversial proposals aimed at restructuring key governance areas.
For example, setting up a Constitutional Court and measures concerning the transfer of judges. Others include executive & administrative changes and reinstating executive magistrates. The removal of the protection of the provincial share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, a cornerstone of the 18th Amendment.
Returning the subjects of education and population planning to the jurisdiction of the Federation (central government), as well as amending Article 243 (which pertains to the command of the Armed Forces) and resolving the deadlock on appointments to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Bilawal concluded by stating that the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) will convene on November 6th, upon the return of the President from Doha, to decide the party’s official policy and stance on these major constitutional changes.
