Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that if the journey of development had not been interrupted, Pakistan would have been the world’s seventh-largest economy. Pakistan has made significant progress in the maritime sector.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Maritime Expo at Expo Centre Karachi, he said that he welcomes all delegates to the Maritime Expo and that more work needs to be dne for teh protection of maritime life.
Ahsan Iqbal stated that Pakistan’s geographical location makes it unique in the world, and it can become a trade hub connecting Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East.
The federal minister stated that Pakistan is an attractive destination for investors in various sectors. There are immense investment opportunities in energy, IT, and minerals, among other fields.
He stated that all ports, including Port Qasim, are being modernized, and Pakistan will become a maritime trade route for the world.
