The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced the introduction of redesigned Pakistani passports featuring enhanced security measures to prevent forgery and misuse.
The new passports will now include the mother’s name alongside the father’s name on the identification page, a move aimed at greater inclusivity and accuracy of personal records.
The visa pages will feature printed images of historical landmarks from different provinces, showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
According to the department, the upgrades are being implemented under the principles of modernization and harmonization, with the printing of the new passport booklets already underway following approval from the Ministry of Interior.
Apart from the newly added features, no other changes have been made to the passport’s existing format.
