Pakistan’s tech industry reached a new record in September 2025. Monthly IT exports touched $366 million for the first time.
This amount shows a 25% rise compared to last year. It also marks a 9% increase from August. The 12-month average was $326 million, so this month crossed it by a clear margin.
IT exports for the first quarter of FY26 reached $1.06 billion.
That’s a 21% increase from the same period last year. Daily export proceeds in September stood at $16.64 million. In August, the average was $14.65 million.
One major reason for this growth is the increase in foreign clients, especially from the GCC region. Pakistani IT companies are expanding fast.
The State Bank of Pakistan also introduced key changes. It raised the foreign currency retention limit from 35% to 50%.
Exporters now use these accounts to invest in foreign businesses. This step gave companies more flexibility. A stable rupee also encouraged exporters to bring back more of their earnings.
