Statistics of trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for the outgoing week have been released, showing that the KSE-100 Index recorded an increase of more than 700 points, as reported by national media on Saturday.
According to details, the PSX 100 Index closed at 163,806 points after gaining 708 points during the week, while the index remained within a band of 9,883 points during the trading week.
The weekly highest level of the 100 Index was recorded at 167,561, while the lowest was 157,678. During the week, a total of 9.13 billion shares were traded, with the total value of weekly trading amounting to Rs. 277.87 billion.
Market capitalization increased by Rs. 57 billion during the week, reaching Rs. 18,968 billion.
It is worth mentioning here that after a massive surge in global gold prices, the sharp decline recorded today surprised investors, as the per tola price of gold dropped by more than Rs. 10,000.
