Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong bullish trend on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 index gained 7032.60 points, with a positive change of 4.44%, closing at 165,476.02 points against 158,443.42 points in the previous session.
The stock market opened in green and the strong bullish trend remained during the whole session, following a 4000-point drop on Monday.
A total of 586,446,162 shares were traded during the day, compared to 1,365,703,374 shares in the previous session, while the share value stood at Rs44.772 billion against Rs62.465 billion previously.
As many as 483 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; of these, 391 recorded gains, 69 sustained losses, and 23 remained unchanged.
Buying interest was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refinery. Index-heavy stocks, including HUBCO, ARL, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, SSGC, SNGPL, and WAFI, are settling in the green.
Analysts said that the market momentum continues to depend on political stability and the government’s commitment towards the implementation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
