Former Pakistan Test cricketer Wazir Mohammad has passed away at the age of 95.
His nephew, Shoaib Mohammad, confirmed the news of his passing, stating that Wazir Mohammad died today in Birmingham.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow over his passing, paying tribute to Wazir Mohammad’s lifelong contributions to the sport.
“Wazir Mohammad’s services to cricket will always be remembered,” said Mohsin Naqvi in his condolence message.
Wazir Mohammad was part of the Pakistan squad that toured India in 1952, where he also made his Test debut for the national side.
He represented Pakistan in 20 Test matches, scoring 801 runs, including 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries.
Wazir Mohammad’s brothers, Hanif Mohammad and Mushtaq Mohammad, also played Test cricket for Pakistan.
