The Sindh government has issued a strong warning to the public about a growing scam linked to its Pink Scooty Scheme, urging citizens not to fall for fake online registrations or pay any fees.
Through an official post on the Sindh Information Department’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the government clarified that the Pink Scooty Scheme is entirely free of cost and no registration fee or personal information should be submitted through unofficial websites or social media links.
“We are providing scooties free of charge to eligible women as part of our women empowerment initiative. Any message asking for money or personal details is fake and misleading,” the statement read.

The government has taken serious notice of fake advertisements and social media posts falsely claiming that people can register for the program by paying an online fee. These scams have been circulating on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms, luring women with promises of fast-track access to the scheme.

- Do not click on suspicious registration links.
- Do not pay any online fee or charges.
- Do not share your CNIC, contact details, or personal documents on unofficial platforms.
- Do not trust random social media pages claiming to offer registration.
What You Should Do
- Follow only official government accounts and websites for updates.
- Wait for verified announcements regarding eligibility and distribution.
- Report fake posts or links to local authorities or cybercrime units.
The public is advised to remain cautious and stay informed through legitimate government channels.
It should be noted that the Sindh government had launched a scheme in February to award free “pink scooters” to women through a lucky draw system, aimed at empowering female commuters in Sindh.
