The claim that Taliban leader Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi’s daughter is studying in India is baseless, and the news circulating on social media in this regard has turned out to be false. The video circulating on social media about Amir Khan Muttaqi’s daughter has no connection with reality.
A video went viral on social media claiming that Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi’s daughter, Parwana Khan Muttaqi, is studying at India’s largest university, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. However, after detailed investigation and verification of sources, it has been revealed that this news has no credible basis.
Social media users themselves expressed doubts about the claim, saying that there is no reliable information available from credible sources to prove that Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi’s daughter is studying at an Indian university.

Several users called it false propaganda, saying that spreading such baseless claims is a serious moral wrongdoing, and social media should not be used as a platform to promote lies.
One user wrote that, first of all, this is a hundred percent fake news. Secondly, the person posting it should first look into their own life and see what their own children are doing.

Another user said that the video is actually from a TikTok clip made in an Arab country, which has been misrepresented and spread on social media.
Some users expressed regret, saying that if we had maintained better relations with our Afghan brothers, perhaps they would not have grown closer to India. They also said that our consistently harsh attitude toward them has driven them to form relations with others.
