Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has marked 30 years in the film industry and now he is trending for his successful career comeback, often dubbed as “Bobby Deol 2.0,” after experiencing a period of professional decline.
After struggling to find work for several years in the 2010s, Deol has strategically embraced and excelled at playing villainous and unconventional characters. This career reinvention has been a key factor in his comeback.
In a recent interview to talk about his debut, Deol revealed the story about the film Barsaat (1995)
He shared he was not supposed to work with Twinkle Khanna as it was Karishma Kapoor, who was initially cast as his co-star.
He said that the as per original plan Karishma Kapoor was initially cast in the lead female role opposite Deol. Early in the production, some scenes were even shot.

But later on, the film faced delays because of scripting issues and a change in directors. Director Shekhar Kapur left the film, and Rajkumar Santoshi took over.

Citing career concerns over the prolonged delay, Kapoor exited the project. She went on to make her debut in the 1991 film Prem Qaidi, four years before Barsaat’s release.
Twinkle Khanna was then signed on to replace Karishma Kapoor.
Both Deol and Khanna went on to win Filmfare Awards for Best Debut for their performances in Barsaat.
After Barsaat, Bobby was seen in films such as “Gupt”, “Kareeb”, “Soldier”, “Badal”, “Hum To Mohabbat Karega”, “Bichhoo”, “Ajnabee”, “Humraaz” and “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” to name a few. This was followed by a career downturn.
But for Bobby Deol good days have returned as he made a roaring comeback with Class of ’83, Aashram, Animal, Love Hostel and The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
