A disgruntled man attacked in Lodhran killed two women, injured his former fiancée with a sharp weapon after his engagement was called off.
According to details, the deceased women have been identified as Atamai and Naziran. Rescue officials shifted the bodies and the injured girl to the hospital.
Local residents apprehended the suspect, identified as Ahsan, and handed him over to the police. Authorities confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile in Sargodha, a man who allegedly severed his wife’s leg during a domestic quarrel was arrested after what police described as an encounter.
Police identified the suspect as Mazhar, who tied up his 22-year-old wife, Iqra Bibi, and attacked her with a meat cleaver, cutting off her leg before fleeing the scene. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured woman to Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital.
Police launched a search operation with heavy deployment. They claimed that during the operation, the suspect and his accomplices opened fire near Chak 75 South. The suspect was wounded by crossfire from his own accomplices and subsequently arrested.
A case has been registered against Mazhar and his absconding accomplices.
