Karachi: Torrential rains in the city not only broke the intensity of the heat but also turned several areas into streams and nullahs.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has released rainfall statistics recorded over the past 24 hours.
According to the data, different parts of the city experienced varying intensities of rain. The highest rainfall was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadeed with 178mm, followed by Keamari with 173mm.
Areas around the old airport received 163mm, Jinnah Terminal 156mm, and Surjani Town 151mm. Other areas saw significant downpours as well, with Nazimabad recording 149mm, North Karachi 148mm, Saadi Town 146mm, and University Road 145mm.
In addition, DHA Phase 7 and Korangi received 138mm, Shahrah-e-Faisal 133mm, Gulshan-e-Maymar 102mm, and PF Base Masroor in western Karachi 101mm. Meanwhile, Orangi Town recorded 81mm, and the lowest was observed in Bahria Town with just 4.8mm.
The Meteorological Department has warned that this monsoon system may continue to bring more rainfall, urging citizens to take precautionary measures.
