Pakistani snooker star Muhammad Asif continued his brilliant run at the World Games, defeating Britain’s Zac Cosker 2-0 on Tuesday to secure a place in the semi-finals at the Civil Aviation Flight University’s Tianfu Campus Gymnasium.
The four-time IBSF world champion, who claimed victory in Bahrain just last month, asserted control from the outset of the first frame. Combining precise potting with tactical safety play, highlighted by a 51-break, Asif clinched the frame 79-15. The 42-year-old was even more dominant in the second frame, applying sustained pressure to close out an 81-39 win and seal a commanding victory.
“This wasn’t just about winning; it was about making a statement,” Asif told APP after the match. “At this stage, every opponent is world-class. I am aiming for a podium finish and hope to give my nation a gift on Independence Day,” he added.
This triumph marks Asif’s third straight win in Chengdu without losing a single frame, following earlier victories over China’s Liang Xiaolong and Germany’s Alexander Widau.
