A tragic incident has occurred near 28 Wala Railway Crossing in the suburban town of Shehbaz Wala, Tehsil Fort Abbas, District Bahawalnagar, Punjab. The video of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media.
In the video, a minor girl can be seen being forcibly taken on a motorcycle while she is visibly resisting, screaming, and crying. According to eyewitnesses and initial reports, this tragic incident occurred when, allegedly, the girl’s father and her cousin attempted to forcefully take her for a marriage to which she did not consent.
The video clearly shows the girl being dragged by her arm and forcibly made to sit on the motorcycle, while the people around watched helplessly.

A large number of users have termed this act a blatant violation of human rights and have demanded immediate action from law enforcement agencies. A campaign has also been launched on social media through hashtags to get justice for the affected girl.
This incident calls for not only immediate and effective action by law enforcement agencies but also the need for legislation, public awareness, and the establishment of safe shelters for affected individuals to prevent such crimes in the future.

After the video of the incident surfaced on social media, the police took action. On the matter of the girl being forcibly taken away, DPO Kamran Asghar took notice and ordered action, upon which a case was registered. According to a social media post, the suspects include the girl’s father and cousin, who were forcibly taking her away. The police have detained both of them.
