It is noteworthy that the United States, in support of Israel, carried out bombings on Iran’s three nuclear facilities, Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, using B-2 bomber aircraft yesterday. Iranian officials stated that the nuclear assets are safe.
In the context of the ongoing war between Iran, the United States, and Israel, a continuous rise in crude oil prices has been observed in the global market, which is feared to have deeply negative effects on Pakistan’s economy.
It is estimated that the global price of crude oil could reach $100 per barrel, which would significantly increase inflation and the current account deficit.
According to an analytical report, if the price of crude oil reaches $75 per barrel, Pakistan’s current account deficit could rise to $2.3 billion. Similarly, if the price hits $80 per barrel, the deficit could be affected by up to $2 billion.
