Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following Indian missile strikes and resulting casualties, Pakistan has granted permission to foreign airlines to use its airspace for flights to India.
Sources said that an Uzbekistan Airways flight entered Indian Punjab using Lahore’s airspace. The Uzbekistan Airways aircraft was en route from Tashkent to Delhi and deviated from its designated route near Kashmir to pass through Lahore.
Meanwhile, after India’s cowardly attack, flight operations have been restored at Lahore and Karachi airports, where a private airline’s flight departed from Lahore to Karachi. A private airline’s flight from Muscat landed at Karachi Airport, and flight FZ 333 from Dubai is expected to land at Karachi Airport shortly.
Flight EK 600 from Dubai to Karachi has taken off. According to airport sources, the flight will land in Karachi within the next hour. Pakistan has closed its airspace for India, which has caused difficulties for Indian aircraft and losses of over 20 billion rupees for Indian airlines.
More than 1,000 Indian flights have been affected over the past nine days due to this closure, with Indian airlines suffering losses exceeding 20 billion rupees in that period.
Flights of Air India, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Air India Express have been canceled. Longer routes, increased fuel consumption, and doubled expenses have severely burdened Indian airlines.
