Pakistan’s leading bike manufacturer Atlas Honda is set to debut its first electric motorcycles by June 2025, as per industry insiders.
Currently, the company holds an impressive 85% share of the local motorcycle market and boasts an annual production capacity of approximately 1.3 million motorcycles. With over 95% of components sourced domestically, Atlas Honda is well-equipped to design electric bikes tailored to Pakistan’s specific needs. The company’s research and development team will focus on crafting models suited to local conditions.
The upcoming electric bikes are expected to be equipped with a 48-watt battery, providing a range of up to 65 kilometers on a full charge. Charging time is projected to be around six to seven hours, with a portable charger enabling convenient charging at home or the office. While these bikes are anticipated to cost slightly more than existing models, their higher-quality components aim to justify the price difference.

Although the government has introduced incentives like tax reductions, the electric two-wheeler market in Pakistan remains underdeveloped, with EV bikes accounting for less than 1% of total motorcycle sales in 2024.
Barriers such as high costs, insufficient charging infrastructure, and consumer apprehensions have hindered the adoption of electric vehicles. Nevertheless, experts suggest that Atlas Honda’s strong reputation and well-established local manufacturing capabilities could drive significant growth in the market.
