BAGHDAD: At least six people, including a commander of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitary forces killed in a fresh US airstrike in wee hours of Saturday.
According to reports, as uncertainties grew of a surrogate war erupting between Washington and Tehran a day after when a top Iranian general killed an American drone strike.
As per details, almost 24 hours later, a new strike targeted a convoy belonging to the Hashed al-Shaabi, an Iraqi paramilitary network with close ties to Iran.
The attack took place near Taji Road north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad but did not name the targeted figure. Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as the famous Mobilisation Force (PMF), rejected that a senior commander was in the convoy.
Taji Road, where the attack took place, leads to a base of non-US coalition forces, including British and Italian troops.
