Gold registered significant gains in Pakistan’s domestic market on Monday after suffering losses in the previous two sessions.
Data shared by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association showed that the per tola gold price increased by Rs2,000, reaching Rs276,400. Similarly, the price of 10 grams rose by Rs1,714, settling at Rs236,968.
The yellow metal also recorded an upward trend in the international market, where per-ounce prices surged by $20, reaching $2,652.
Meanwhile, the prices of per tola and 10 grams of silver remained unchanged at Rs3,400 and Rs2,914.95, respectively.
On Saturday, gold witnessed losses in both local and international markets. In Pakistan, the per tola gold price decreased by Rs300, falling to Rs274,400. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also dropped by Rs257, settling at Rs235,254.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee appreciated by 3 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs277.97, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs278.00.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs 277.50 and Rs 279.00, respectively.
The price of the euro decreased by 54 paisa, closing at Rs293.66, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs294.20, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen remained unchanged, closing at Rs1.84, while the British pound saw a decrease of one paisa, trading at Rs354.82, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs354.83.
The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham remained stable, closing at Rs75.68, while the Saudi Riyal decreased by 1 paisa, closing at Rs73.99.
