Did Ryan Gosling’s role in ‘Barbie’ lead Eva Mendes to quit Hollywood? The actress and longtime partner of Gosling has spilled the beans about her relationship with Gosling.
The couple, who allegedly tied the knot in 2022, are parents of two children Esmeralda Amada who is 9 years old, and 7-year-old Amada. In her recent appearance on Today, the 50-year-old actress talked about the ‘“non-verbal agreement”’ she made with the Barbie actor about raising their children.
When asked what it was like to quit acting to become a full-time mother, Eva said that it was like a no-brainer. “I’m so lucky, and I was like if I can have this time with my children… and I still worked, I just didn’t act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away,” the actress said.
While Ryan has continued to make movies since Esmeralda and Amada’s birth, Eva hasn’t starred in a film for over a decade now.
“It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, ‘Okay he’s going to work and I’m going to work, I’m just going to work here,’” she spoke of her 13-year-old relationship with the Barbie actor. The couple met in 2012 when they acted in the movie ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’.
