In a notable development providing respite to individuals grappling with electricity shortages, the prices of solar panels have witnessed a substantial decrease. This price reduction not only enhances the affordability of solar panels but also renders them more accessible to Pakistanis who are increasingly embracing green energy alternatives amidst unprecedented surges in power tariffs.
According to a report published in the Daily Pakistan, the rates of solar panels have recently experienced a significant decline, particularly in systems ranging from 7 to 15 kilowatts. Presently, these systems are available at prices reduced by Rs. 200,000.
Illustrating the extent of this price adjustment, the cost of a 7-kilowatt system has plummeted by Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 825,000, while a 10-kilowatt system is now priced at Rs. 1.125 million. Similarly, the price of a 12-kilowatt system has seen a decrease of Rs. 200,000, bringing it down to Rs. 1.4 million. Moreover, the price of a 15-kilowatt system stands at Rs. 1.6 million after a Rs. 200,000 reduction.
This sudden and considerable drop in prices comes at a crucial juncture, particularly as the summer season approaches, traditionally associated with escalating prices. Notably, just last month, solar panel prices had surged due to heightened demand in anticipation of the summer season.
