In case you didn’t know, the two celebrities Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber have been at the center of beef speculation since 2018, when Hailey married Justin Bieber just six months after he had parted ways from Selena following a seven-year on-again, off-again romance.
Ever since Gomez and Hailey’s, every move has been scrutinized on social media. Now, Selena Gomez came out to defend Hailey Bieber and asked fans to stop speculating about the two and their alleged feud which started this month earlier.
Melodrama ends
Over the past few weeks, social media users especially those on TikTok have claimed that Hailey is a ‘mean girl’ and she and her friends haven’t always treated Selena kindly.
After Selena had posted some self-deprecating videos of herself on TikTok and Instagram Stories. She had said about herself, “I laminated my brows too much.” Later, Kylie Jenner posted a photo of herself on her Instagram Story with the caption ‘this was an accident???’ over her brows. She also shared a picture of her friend Hailey Bieber’s brows.
Death threats
Gomez revealed on her Instagram story that Hailey Bieber had reached out to her and told her about the death threats she has been receiving.

Salena’s statement
Selena wrote, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. (red heart emoji).”
Hailey’s statement
Hailey in an Instagram story explained she and Selena had been privately talking for weeks about how to handle the drama, admitting that everyone could stand to be kinder about what they post online, including herself.
She followed Selena back on Instagram too after Selena made the first move and followed Hailey this morning.
In her statement, Hailey shared:
‘I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.’
‘The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this, which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.’
‘Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including me.’
‘In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.’
