Time is slipping away

Ambassador Dr. Jamil by Ambassador Dr. Jamil

Reading Time: 3 mins read

The malaise of Pakistan’s economy has reached its highest point, the dear country is being burdened by debt, which can be well estimated by looking at the sum of our internal and external payments that has reached 253 billion dollars.

The payment of one billion dollars of sukuk bonds on December 5 is also knocking on the door. Unfortunately, Pakistan’s reserves have fallen sharply in the last four months and now money for payment of only 5 weeks is available in the treasury.

The worrying thing is that our pockets were already empty and in such a situation the 52% drop in foreign investment is unbearable, the debt burden has increased by 24% in the first 3 months of this financial year, the GDP The situation is different.

In any state, misunderstandings and suspicions between law enforcement agencies and the public should be resolved immediately. In Pakistan, there is a law for everything, but when there is an atmosphere of mistrust, the situation worsens.

Moreover, it can affect all areas of life, in such situations when the country’s conditions are dire and the economy has come or seems to be collapsing, mistrust in institutions and the public increases for the worse.

The foremost of our institutions is the Pakistan Army, which we have nurtured with much toil and sacrifice. Which has proved to be a professional army along with being the sixth largest force in the world and to dispute the Pakistan Army just because of a few people on the basis of suspicion is nothing short of kicking yourself.

In the context of the objective and environmental conditions of the country, the initiative taken by Imran Khan to stop the chaos in Islamabad is commendable. The government had decided to hand over sensitive buildings and places to the army and in the context of the change in military leadership, the attack on Islamabad could have been a precursor to a much bigger problem and the Pakistan Army would have had to stand up to the people and the army had always stood up to the people. But what avoids shooting?

Time is slipping away like sand and political instability is becoming a problem. Now is the time for our leaders, our politicians to sit together where the economy is given priority over politics and personal likes and dislikes.

Let our leaders come to their senses when the game is out of hand and all these facilities, privileges, luxuries of the dear country, under the spell of which most of our leaders are always intoxicated.

Perhaps the realization of this thing, if not now, then never, and time will bring us, maintaining its speed, to a point where, God willing, there will be no economy, no politics, and the hands of the people will reach the necks of the elite.

At this time there is a crisis for Pakistan and according to the poet:

نادیدہ بہاروں کا فسوں ٹوٹ چکا ہے
پژمردگئ رنگِ چمن بول رہی ہے
ممکن ہے کہ لب ساکت و سامد رہیں لیکن
اے اہلِ وطن! ارضِ وطن بول رہی ہے
