A passenger on a train from Karachi to Rawalpindi, who claimed two Railways security guards sexually assaulted her, now facing legal action after the medical report disproven the rape claim.
The woman had filed a police report (FIR) against the guards in accordance with Pakistani Penal Code Section 376 (gang rape).
In her statement, the woman claimed that the security personnel had followed her to the Sir Syed Express washroom, where they assaulted her.
She was sent to the Faisalabad Civil Hospital for a checkup while the two accused guards appeared before a local court.
However, the initial medical report dismissed allegations of sexual assault and the Railways police started a lawsuit against her.
The accused guards claimed they had been wrongfully accused of rape after they refused to allow the aforementioned woman travel without a ticket.
The woman reportedly boarded the train in Karachi at Landhi, according to the Railways Assisting Operating Officer. She was on the road because she and her family had some disagreements.
Further investigation is underway.
