The killing of the Hindu man named Priyantha Kumara by a mob in Sialkot over alleged blasphemy has outraged social media users over alleged blasphemy.

Priyantha Kumara was a general manager of a private factory titled Rajco industries in Sialkot. He had been serving for eight years in that company. On Friday morning, Kumara was tortured to death and then burned by a mob on charges of alleged blasphemy.

It is said that the mob, who killed Kumara, were the workers of the private factory where Kumara was the manager. The mob attacked the deceased and burnt his body after killing him.

This incident has shocked many people a and the hashtag ‘Silakot’ has started to trend on social media demanding justice for Priyantha Kumara. In this regard, Jibran Nasir posted, “With every lynching new “Heroes” are born, boys become Ghazis, those who can’t find jobs get mureeds, legal teams, rallies & Mazar after death. Why must police intervene & risk life when State stands with lynchers. Embracing TLP will become Imran & Faiz’s only legacy #Sialkot.”

According to Asma Shirazi, mere notices won’t work. “The society is becoming extremist and unfortunately the negligence of gvt and extremist policies of the state over the years make this country intolerant. when and how will we learn and whom to blame? Sialkot,” she wrote.

What happened in #Sialkot today is the direct outcome of normalising extremist discourse by using it as a political pawn. If this tendency does not stop immediately, we will all live at the mercy of lynch mobs.

Please stop sharing the graphic video/images from #Sialkot incident. At the very least, we can respect basic human dignity & not share horrific visuals of a human being’s torture & eventually killed in the name of blasphemy. The State being complicit doesnt mean we have to be.

A Hindu Sri Lankan manager of a private factory was lynched, tortured, then murdered and later his body was lit on fire by the mob who claimed he committed blasphemy.
The employees of the factory were involved in this incident later a huge crowd gathered with them. #Sialkot pic.twitter.com/MYY80f1E5N

Earlier today a Sri Lankan national employed as manager in a #Sialkot factory was accused of blasphemy, lynched to death then his body was burnt while Police no where in sight. Since #MashalKhan the odds of lynchers getting state support are better than accused getting protection

Dear world, cut all ties with Pakistan, stop all exports, implement strict actions and regulations and maybe then the people of this country would realise.
Ye mulk Virat or Babar k Hug p mra hua hay Abhi tk, but is unable to see what the actual fuck is going on. #Sialkot

These brothers never got their justice. 11 years later, extremists are more enabled. #Sialkot pic.twitter.com/8gZ7yNZ43X

The madness around blasphemy is nurtured by the state to target opponents, undermine governments & silence critics. Peaceful movements are violently suppressed while religious fanatics are rewarded. Mob violence & lynchings are a logical result of such suicidal policies. #Sialkot

Hire more Cynthia Ritchies. Get another 200 bleed green trolls to bark 24/7. Ensure cricket tamashas provide occasional distractions to the crowd. Get a few geriatric generals to talk constitutional reforms. Garland TLP. Kowtow to TTP. And look the other way when #Sialkot happens
